As my body grows, so does my gratitude and anticipation.
I realize it's been weeks since my last entry. We've had friends and relatives visiting from Venezuela, Miami and Denmark. We had a baby shower for our soon-to-be baby girl. We are grateful for the presents and the support from our family and friends. The baby's room is almost ready. We have started to attend childbirth preparation classes at Holmes Regional and I also joined the Brevard Birth Network which meets monthly to discuss childbirth and its many aspects.
Needless to say the pregnancy has affected my body in many ways. Getting out of bed in the mornings takes a few minutes. I feel bulky and heavy. My yoga practice has slowed down to where it's mostly breathing and relaxation, with some gentle stretching. I still got for long walks with my dog, but I have to stop to catch my breath when the belly hardens.
It's all very amazing and exciting. I am where I need to be. I enjoy teaching and practicing Yoga more than ever, specially my Prenatal classes. One of my students is due this week. I send many positive thoughts her way.
I have decided to take a break from teaching in Melbourne Village in February. I will however continue to teach Prenatal Yoga at
The Zen Room as far into my pregnancy as possible. Once the baby is born, Cathy will substitute for me until I can go back to teaching.
The enormous change that will take place in my life in less than 6 weeks is slowly dawning on me, but I'm confident that breathing and living in the present moment will carry me through.
Namaste!
